If you take a look at the Talent Corp website to see the type of qualifications and salary required for that visa, it will put an application for a PR based on the Professional route category in perspective.

Basically a PR is only considered if the professional contribution of the applicant serves the development of the Malaysian economy. The RPT is the next best option and far quicker to obtain. Their website is at:   The RPT actually helps employers because staff with that visa do not require them to use their quota for foreign employees.

The other PR routes are the Points system, Expert category and of course the mega-bucks investor. The Professional category is probably the least likely for success.

Your wife is Malaysian? Then after 5 years on a "spouse" visa you can apply. That usually works and the "commissions" payable seem to have dissapeared  mostly.

Otherwise its talent pass (not PR). Getting PR as a foreigner is almost impossible unless 1. Very rich 2. Melayu Muslim heritage.  My wife is the latter and turned it down when offered as she wanted out of Malaysia ( I would have got it too. Grumble grumble lol). Any other race or religion...... iceberg survival in hell chance unless very wealthy and or connected.
