Sometimes having enough funding alone for your holiday is not enough to convince the immigration officer. They worry Filipino tourist won't come back as promised. If you have a job you should get a certificate that you're employed, bring your company ID as well. They'll look for every proof that you are really coming back after your holiday. The invitation letter you have, was it signed by the Philippine consulate from that said country? If you're not staying at your friend's place, do you have a hotel booking?

Some Immigration officer are not as  strict as the others so good luck. Make sure you have plenty of time when you check in so you'll have enough time before your flight. :-)

Immigration services are really unpredictable. But I guess that's for as well coming to as leaving the Philippines. I have to say, being a Belgian has not brought me any problems so far, not in the Philippines, not in Jordan (where I stayed 6 months on a 1 month tourist visa :) ).

For my wife (girlfriend at that time), going out of the Philippines was more difficult. First she wanted to just visit Belgium, so we applied for her tourist visa. After almost 2 months, we heard that it was not approved. You need VERY strong proof to show that you will return. Nor strong enough apparently :)

After that, we applied for a Fiancee visa. Approved in 3 weeks. Other need months for it to be approved. As I said, unpredictable. It depends on the person processing I guess. (my situation was of course with Belgian Immigration Service, so I don't know how it is with others)
