Visiting UAE by land from Bahrain

mohdfarhansaleem

Hi All.

I was planning to visit one of my friend in Dubai by travelling via road. I am a Bahrain resident. So can someone tell me step by step the procedures required to be done. My nationality is India.

Visa for uae in advance.  Visa for Saudi in advance.  You will not get either on arrival.  Saudi, you only get on arrival if you have valid US/UK/Schengen visa AND you are flying into Saudi via a Saudi airline like Saudia, Flynas etc.

Car in your name.  Or permission from the person or bank who owns the car.

Get insurance for the car at the border.  First for Saudi (before you enter the causeway toll plaza, insurance booths on the right) and then at UAE border, for UAE.

For Covid restrictions in UAE e.g. test etc., Google the latest requirements. There is no restriction anymore for entering Saudi.

Leave very early in the morning, it will take you a good 8 hours and also so you don't waste time on Saudi-Bahrain causeway with the early morning commuters.  Don't break speeding rules in UAE as you will be stopped and made to pay fines at the border when you leave.  Saudi, so far, no issue in that regard as their systems are not linked yet.

But for Saudi transit, do you know what all documents are required ?
XTang

Hi. So I was going through VFS Tasheel website for Saudi Transit Visa, it looks like they require an invitation letter. Can you let me know more about the transit visa
XTang
Everything you need to know is on the VFS Tahseel website including documents required.   Go through the different types of visas and see which is right for your purpose.   Make a little bit of effort.

Yes I did . For transit visa, you only get it for one side.. so when coming back from Dubai you will again have to apply for transit visa again.

Then get a tourist visa.
mohdfarhansaleem
Yes . Tourist, family or business visa will be fine

hi quick question.

I have a saudi and uae visa but i do not have the travel insurance for UAE. how do i apply for it? can i do it online?

XTang

At the border of UAE.  For Saudi, you can do it online.   This is assuming you are a Bahrain resident and leaving from Bahrain.
