How the new visa laws between the USA and Russia changes getting or applying for visa?

There isn't sufficient info on the consulates websites.

I don`t know about USA visas to Russia. I can tell you about visas for USA. I think that you meant travel categories (don`t remember the exact name of visas). If I`m right, here`s a summary for travel visa for USA:

It was:

1. Period - 1 year
2. Need to provide information about the reservation
3. Price ~130$

Now:

1. Period - 3 year
2. Don`t need to provide information about the reservation air tickets, hotels etc.
3. Price ~35$

Something like that.
