Butane gas bottles

Suzi Masterson

when we moved over last week i brought 2 bottles of butane with me to heat a single room. bottle 1 ran out last night. id like to get it re filled asap. i like having a spare bottle sitting there.

do bulgaria use the same as in the uk so i can simply go to the garage and switch bottles buying the gas (my local garage does this).

i believe they fill for you rather than swapping bottles. At least what happens where i am in Vidin

I've been with my neighbours when they take their gas bottles to the garage in Toshevo. Their own bottle is refilled.

Depending on where you are, you'll find the odd garage that does refills and many more where you exchange your empty cylinder for a full one, just paying for the gas. In the latter case, you may find that they'll only exchange the bottle if the empty one is from a company they deal with (you can usually tell which company's it is by the colour of the cylinder).

The  garage  exchange  the  bottles locally to me.

i was wondering about the tegulator being the same as england. i brought my gas over with me.

My local garage is 29lev per 13 kg bottlw. mot sure if thats good or not.

im very much at the learning stage of everything

The regulator is different here - you'll need to buy one. Often they don't have them at the gas stations but you might strike lucky; make sure you get one with the right size output nozzle for your hose.

Suzi, I paid 30 Lev for 13kg refill in the VT region, I also got my bottle from Praktis and regulator from Praktiker.

The big garages offered to only swap and not refill.
