The pollution caused by old diesel cars in Bulgaria has made me sick by GoingDutch
Just as a warning to other foreigners looking to move to Bulgaria. The air quality is very bad because of the pollution caused by old German diesel cars and fossil fuel burning in winter for heating. The old diesel cars, often the exact types ...

Nowhere is perfect, and Bulgaria certainly isn't for everyone; if you're happier somewhere else, then congrats on finding your Shangri-la...What I find hard to fathom is the posts from folks who know nothing about Bulgaria but still rock up ... Read More

How to get my stuff from UK to Bulgaria by wendygould2
Hello can anyone please tell me how easy it is to take all my stuff from UK to Bulgaria? Which is best way id like to take most of my belongings over there. Thank you any advice would be appreciated .

Moving this far is a great opportunity to declutter; I'd guess that you probably don't need to pay good money to ship ALL your stuff, unless you've already pared everything down to a minimum. Read More

There are companies in the UK which specialise in LHD cars; if it's already registered in the EU you won't need type approval, new headlights etc - and they usually offer a warranty. There was a big one run by a Greek Cypriot family in London (near ... Read More

"100% disabled" sounds like a bad basis for moving to Bulgaria - and it would cut no ice here. A "Commission" is required before the BG health service will regard anyone as disabled, and to what degree; my guess would be that they'd want to be 100% ... Read More

@yasmin_bree Again, don't let your imagination run away with you thinking about "a slower pace" for the rest of your days: we've recently-ish had to arrange hospital in-patient treatment for my in-laws. Forget "Call 911" - it took a full day to find ... Read More

I've bought two second-hand cars here, followed by two new ones. I'd recommend avoiding a new Suzuki here, the main dealer's completely useless. We both know how to drive, so prefer manuals... ًںکژSeriously, though - you'll have no more to ... Read More

Don't bet the farm on the "quieter, less stressful" part - it all depends on what you've been used to and what you encounter here; there's plenty of stress to go around, especially if you need a fair amount of medical care.. Read More
