Hello Everyone

I am a Danish guy close to 50 yeras old moving to Bulgaria in October 2024. For starters I'll be renting an appartment about 45 minutes southeast of Haskovo. I like tinkering with DIY, cars and motorcycles and look forward to living in Bulgaria.

I hope to make new friends and network, so if you are in this area I'd be happy if you drop a message.

I speak english and danish fluently, some basic german and absolutely beginner spanish.

My house is in Chervena near Levski. Will I need to buy a generator for emergency electricity. It is a one bedroom house so, a little cottage. What size generator do you recommend or would I need one?

Power cuts are a fact of life here - you'll quickly get used to them.  We have a big wired-in gennie but I've never used it, even when the power has stooped in the coldest winters.  Ii I were you, I wouldn't bother with one.

However, if you decide to have a wood-fired central heating system (bad idea, in my view - aircon is better and cheaper) you'll need a chunky UPS, to avoid blowing yourself up...

Sounds like a good plan m8, I'm doing the same next year, looking at a rural village, with land , fruit trees, vineyard etc, do u have any areas in mind? I quite like the look of strandzha mountain area, only 30 mins from coast

Heyo peeps, looking forward to moving to Varna next week with my family of 3. I am 36 and My wife is from Varna and I am an Austrian-American who has been looking for friendly people who wish to get together and have a nice time meeting and exchanging contacts and ideas on how to enjoy life in Bulgaria. I work in digital Marketing and Sales for an agency doing Video SEO. I want to join a car club like cars and coffee or something with skateboarding or hiking or CBD health and wellness for herbs and natural path healing.

Im David...from NI originally and laterally Scotland. I arrived in BG about 10 months ago having bought a " villa" about a mile out of Otets Paisievo ( Plovdiv region).. I live alone and with few if any neighbours ( they are seasonal). .

I left the U K looking for a complete change and to get my head showered . 😀
