Even its renewal you cant work. Actually this should be under control of your HR department and non employee initiative.

This will be a significant issue. Since your application is filed as a resident of Italy, you have to get your Visa D in Italy as well. If you look at the Belgian Embassy in Italy's website, they cannot issue you Visa D or any visa if you do not have a valid Italian Residence permit. The renewal thing from the Post Office is not valid and cannot be used for visa application.

So in short, the immigration office will likely refuse/not approve your application. Even if it somehow approves, you will most likely not get your visa. You will have to try to get your residence permit ASAP.

you cannot work solely with work permit. With that said you might be able to work with your student card - you need to contact the city hall about that to clarify the conditions.

As i said before both WP and RP need to work.

Even if you try to work without , your HR wouldnt go further and would inform you that its not possible.

In my case, the responsible person wanted to understand some lines of my payslips that were not clear to them (linked to my holidays, something they should know in my opinion).

Anyway, they asked the questions, my employer explained the calculation and they accepted it. A bit annoying as it added extra lead time, but it worked.

My work permit application started on 21/01/25 and it was granted on 03/03/25. I am still waiting for residence permit. Isn't it taking too long, can anyone tell me the reason for this delay?

BTW on socialsecurity website the status changed to "in treatment by office" just yesterday - what does this tell?

Hello, yes. You should have 49 while waiting the RP to continue working. It is a temporary replacement of the RP.

im already in Belgium and my employer wants to apply for single permit

however my passport is going to be expired in 5 months and the new one will be issued at the end of next month.

Yes, if you're current RP is still valid you can start working for your new employer. If it will expire soon, you can go to the commune and ask for bijlage 49 which covers the single permit until the new RP is issued.

Strange Because my employer also submitted application on 20th May but haven't got any response yet.. i received email on 20th and aftr that it is  just showing newly submitted no update yet

you should have your national number and it's me thn only you can check in first application you can't get any information you will have to talk with your employer regarding that. good luck
