Freelance Visa for Vietnam

Yasmine109

Hello people living in Vietnam ! :)

I would like to know if there is a visa for people working on remote and who would like to stay in Vietnam for a year or two.

Is there a minimum monthly salary required or any other criteria ?

I have been searching a bit but can't seem to find any exact information ! :/

Thank you ! :)

No there isn't.  The best you could do is a tourist visa and that will require monthly or every three month renewals that have been running around $300 every three months for fees.  Do you even know where you want to go?  I see you threw up the same question in three other countries.  You are willing to go "almost anywhere"?

If someone is working remotely as a "digital nomad", the world is their oyster, so to speak, so of course, they're going to compare a wide range of countries in terms of a number of important factors, starting with the visa situation.

Based on their research, they can make a decision in the end rather than at the start.

Vietnam is still closed indefinitely, as is most of Asia. If they open, it's a good choice in terms of internet (not bad) and cost of living (low). Generally, the country is safe and the people are friendly. However, the visa situation is somewhat opaque and changeable, so most expats use the services of visa agents. As SteinNebraska mentions, there's no special visa for remote workers.

Anyway, at this point, no visas are available without some sort of sponsorship, and I'm not sure if oncoming flights have resumed or not.

Some countries in Central and South America seem to be open though, as well as Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Check here for current info (which may or may not be accurate):
