I'm not sure. Post offices do have post boxes, so I suggest you take you passport to the post office and ask.

Yes, I have a Post Office Box, padlock and all.     $4 a year .   Just have your passport for ID.

In Hanoi, the International Post Office across the road from the lake (corner of Ding Le), you present your visa and passport and pay 50,000 and it's all done.

May I ask where you are getting a PO box for $4 to $7 a year?  At the big post office around the corner from the central post office in Saigon District 1, they said 700,000 dong for 1 year.

I wonder if it is cheaper at other HCMC post offices?

The post from I3ully is from 2015 and he said "4 years ago". Means 7 year ago.
And I think in HCMC the prices will be more expensive than in other cities.
Is 700k Dong a year really a problem for you?
I think the location of the p.o. box is more important because you should check the p.o. box in the Saigon Post Office every week.

Wow, didn't know that.    I need to get a PO box. Then maybe I will stand a better chance of actually receiving mail. Last three letters sent to the Q8 hem never appeared. They were from the US, so probably looked like they were stuffed with $100s.

By the way, you can only rent the p.o. box for minimum 3 months and for maximum the time your visa is valid.
Means that you must go every 3 months to  renew the contract, in case that you extend or renew always a short-time visa.

I have a 5 year visa in my passport. This allows me to stay 180 days each visit.

When renting a P.O.Box, Would the 5 year visa be looked at or the 180 day limitation ?

I think 5 years.
In my view, on the 5-year visa itself nothing of 180 days is noted.

If 5-year visa means VEC, then there is the line on it that says  "Duration of stay does not exceed 180 days for each entry."
