Spass application May 2021

elestudio1995

May 14 - application
May 24- rejected (reason they gave is my salary should be higher than my previous work) prev salary was 2.6
May 24- appeal
June 2 - rejected

Hi all,

I want to ask some tips and more knowledge on this forum.

I am a previous spass holder dated 2018-2020.
Now, I’m outside Singapore and got an offer to work with the same industry with my new employer.

After knowing the reason for the rejection, my employer adjusted the salary from 2.5 to higher and appealed, but then it got rejected again.

We are just waiting for the officer to get back to us to inform the reason of rejection.

If I’m not wrong, appeal can take 2x. Hoping to get an approval soon.

Would greatly appreciate all your tips and knowledge on this. Feel free to share yours! Thank you so much and keep safe all.

Hi elle,

If your ex employer already adjusted your salary for the appeal maybe there’s another reason for it.

As we all know that SG tighten its boarder measure and a possibility to open only on 2022.

Starting last year there were cases that the application was rejected because mom thought that the applicant is not in Sg anymore and the company will send the stvp to appeal and to prove that the applicant was still in here. And then it will be approved.

But this idea is just my opinion only. Maybe there’s some reason out there for you and your employer to find out.

Best of luck and thank you for your time.

Hello! I need some insight on this. I applied into a new company and then i got in. I signed contract and offer letter last april. I resigned May 4th and my last day was june 4th. I waited until June 25th came and my spass still havent applied due to job posting, thats accdg to my new employer. Last June 28th i went to MOM. I was advised to go back home and wait for the outcome in my hometown. Now my question is: my STVP is until july 4th. I book plane ticket on july 9th because that is the cheapest. Applied stvp extension last july 29th. Is it possible for MOM to approve my extension?
2. Is there any fault on my new employers side because they havent posted the job listings and never tell me earlier that they havent applied my pass yet before i resigned?

Pls help me with your insights and point of viewa coz im super anxious already.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I’m a freshgraduate, holding a SVP now , have anyone received an email from MOM like they need more time to review it, etc for Spass? and what is the most result? accepted or rejected after MOM need more time to review? and mostly need to wait for how many days/weeks?

Mcre215: You should not have resigned before your new work pass was approved. That was a BIG mistake!
The employer was not allowed to offer you the job before posting it and hiring a local applicant, if any suitable one applies. The contract you signed before that is thus invalid. Let's hope they cannot find a local applicant and will still offer you the job after the posting ends.
Once you leave Singapore, it is uncertain that you can return: Even if your work pass is approved eventually (processing times are currently 2 - 3 months on average), you might not get an entry permit.
Better prepare for a long (or permanent) stay in your home country!

Tella Ttan: The time taken to review your case is no indication of your approval/rejection chances. Processing times are currently 2 - 3 months on average, but can be shorter or longer in individual cases.
