Sorry I couldn't find the similar thread for this, so posting it here.
Just to give a overview about me.

Indian
Salary- 4000 k
Pass- E pass.
Engineer Role
Experience will be 6 years this may.

I am bachelors and working with like a small R and D manufacturing company less than 10 employees. We have 3 locals and 1 local on traineeship,1 Dp and 1 more Epass. My present company wants to renew my pass,聽 but according to new guidelines by mom I must get at least 6.3 k for an Epass.

My question is can we apply for a S pass (same designation with hike 200 dollars) when we have 3 locals (with CPF) and 1 trainee local (no cpf) ?
As we are moving now from R and D to manufacturing setup, there is open role for a manager position and my boss wants to offer that with salary to 6.4 k for Epass.

My worry is if I stay in my present role whether my S pass application be rejected due to quota? If I take the manager position with more responsibilities will MOM question about the salary hike from 4000 to 6400?

Please guide me.

Since, according to your description, your employer does not have a full space in their quota, they cannot get you on S-Pass.聽 (Futhermore, they will also lose the DP employee on the next renewal, as LoCs are no longer supported.)
The employer should in any case raise your pay to your market value of S$6300, otherwise you might be rejected for undercutting the local pay structure. Such a raise, especially when connected to a change in job description, should not be a concern. (But there are many other potential reasons why MoM would not approve - the employer better include a detailed description of their manufacturing plans, how聽 much local employment it would generate and why your presence is essential to this. It would sound more convincing if you have the managerial post!)
