About salary part, it depends on which field you work in and your core job designation & description. I believe even in IT, different job positions and languages n skills attract different salary range.

Example: In my field, 6 years experience can fetch you $10k in average.

Nevertheless, you need to have patience and wait for the outcome. Good luck

Given that the average Singapore household income is around S$6000/month, S$10k isn’t THAT much - I already earned more 15 years ago (not in the financial industry).

That's amazing. What would you say are the most lucrative industries to work for in Singapore? I'm currently waiting for my EP for a job in digital marketing, but am planning to take a masters in finance/business analytics and maybe switch fields.

Singapore consistently ranks as one if the most expensive places to live, so salary numbers that seem high to you might not afford much here.
Apart from that, I believe that choosing one’s profession by the average industry pay (instead of your personal interests) is misleading, as you cannot do a good job (and thus develop your career towards high pay) without passion for the job.
But if you really want to compare industries, google Singapore salary surveys, which are published at regular intervals by several consultancies.

My employer just submitted EP application for me. I am wondering about the success rate, and how long the process could be done in practical.

Could anyone can share your experience if you have just gone through this process?

Also, ratio of local:foreigner employee is one of the factor for the approval. What is the safety ratio on it?

Here is my background:
Occupation: Software Developer
Exp: 10 years
Salary: 10k+ SGD
Hiring Company: MNC - Financial industry (around 100 employees in Singapore)
Nationality: Hong Kong
Education: Master degree from one of the Hong Kong universities

In general, EP approval process is not based on quota system (S-pass does have). But, for smaller organisation, 2:1 ratio is a safe bet (2 locals including PRs against one foreigner). Looking at your above details, you should get EP in weeks time. Good luck

Is there any indication that EPass Rejected appeal is in progress? As far as I see the EPass status still says rejected?

Ask your employer - only they can appeal!

when they appeal your rejected application??
appeal takes minimum 3 weeks to success. sometime little longer or shoter.
if you don't believe your employer,
you ask your employer to send screenshot of your appeal application pending status.
your application will get approved very soon.

Hi following is the reply I got from MoM as I had posted a query on there site

Our record shows your Employment Pass (EP) appeal is currently under review.



Most EP appeal take at least 3 weeks to process, some cases may take longer.



We ask for your patience, and we will convey the outcome to you through Employment Pass Online once we have reached a decision.


I am awaiting fingers crossed. Will update once the outcome is shared

Hi,
     You are right, I straight away enquired with Ministry of Manpower about my rejection on 16th October and they replied that the appeal is in process which takes 3 or more weeks. Ive been told the visa rejection appeal was done on 11th October by the HR. So below is the timeline
30th August Date of Application
11th October Date of Re-appeal
Now awaiting with "fingers crossed" in the HR words :)

Should I re enquire with MOM on 8th November? That would on completing 4 weeks...

You can enquire, but that will not speed up the process.

I enquired on 6th November and got the same response.. Wondering why it's taking so long if the appeal was a job bank issue..? It's almost a month from 11th October now ...did anyone face same issue?

Just following up on the discussion above. Surya mentioned 2:1 local to foreign ratio is a safe bet for smaller companies. What is your thought on the suitable local to foreign ratio for companies with fewer than 10 employees?

My company has fewer than 10 employees. Half is local and PR, the other half is foreigners. My salary is $8,000+. I did my master in the US and have 1-2 years of work experience there as well. The company went through a thorough and fair hiring process (500+ candidates considered regardless of nationality) and they decided to hire me because of my familiarity with the market and language of neighboring country.

I wanted to understand whether MoM would bring up any complications or red flags on my application based on my profile. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If there were no suitable local candidates (which must be hired first) and employing you is essential to the future development of the company (which they should explain in your EP application), you may receive the EP.
