Google Play Store with foreign Google Accounts

danfinn

I have recently come across some Filipino android apps like TFD The Filipino Doctor and the Chong Hua Hospital (Cebu) patient portal that are available on Play Store but not for "foreign" accounts, apparently. It literally says "app is not available in your country". So of course I created a Filipino Google account, signed into it, went to Play Store and it still "knows" I am from a different country though I am resident here. I have tried many ways, I changed my account to Philippines phone numbers and addresses but nothing works. Does anybody have a workaround so we can download these useful apps? For the Chong Hua app  I actually found the developrt and spoke to him by phone and he said Google  was controlling that & he would contact Google but I never received a call back. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Interesting, I went to my Iphone apple store and TFD is available for downloading on IOS, but when I tried my Son’s Redmi note 11 in Google play store, the app does not even show up.

Changed to my wife’s account and it showed up and available for download.

Not sure what steps needed for you to create a new account in your name.

Probably need to create a new account in a close family members name who does not currently have a Google play-store account and using a different email, numbers, card etc

Google seems to know where the account is from and also seems to lock that info to the phone.  I my case Google suddenly decided, after about 18 months jn the philippines,  that I was resident in philippines and everything worked from that point
