They are various types of postnup I would advise to get the postnup stamped/ signed by the local court and not just by a lawyer
Finding a reputable lawyer is strongly advised also as many individuals pose as a lawyer here and are nothing but agents at best
With a postnup some areas / regional areas may not recognise it for land ownership
My advice for a genuine lawyer is visit the local courts rather than word of mouth or googling as in the courts they must carry the licence to practice
Go to the public gallery in court and look for the ones showing the license to the judge before trials and ask for a. Business card etc
Price  depends on context and assets but should be no more than 20/25 million IDR
could be as low as 3million idr

Just one consideration to take into account is a “last will and testimony “  I only know this as I’ve done this myself and know of other families that have and continue to have huge issues
To make a British expats “will” fully legal with as little as possible hinderance in both both the UK and Indonesia you must make this in the UK with an approved / registered lawyer, this must then be taken to the Indonesian Embassay in London to be legalised, after this you can then register this with your lawyer in Indonesia, this was correct as at September 2018

Just to add ( keep remembering things) it may come in handy to get an apostlle done for certificates/ diplomas etc and your birth certificate legalised also, it’s not always the case this is needed in Indonesia (but some people are asked) but I’ve recently had to show these for Russia, Ukraine (different story) and Kazakhstan even though I’m contracted and employed from Indonesia and it was for business
If your in the uk to get apostles for certs are about £10 each birth certificate about £25/£30 both take about 5 working days
Before leaving the UK if you already haven’t get upto date bank statements etc may come in handy if your wife/ partner gets you a visa

Not a bad move to be honest but can come in handy in an advice capacity
You’ll soon enough meet and get to know people in certain positions who will gladly offer advice and guidance as a friend and not a meal ticket
Immigration in my location have had a total clear out late last year/ start of this year very nice and professional the previous dodgy at best
Police here have always been really good and always chatty and helpful and I’ve got to know a few of them and are genuinely nice people
Don’t forget your driving license / bike license, bike license are a similar set up to the uk so if you want one here apply for the correct one
I have a bit of a collecting bikes problem and need to get them sold had 3 just over 2 years ago then down to 1, 4 new additions to the family since November wife is not amused 😂
