IMHO, the use of the word bahasa on its own and in direct conversation with people you know is OKÂ…what language doesnÂ’t incorporate slang, abbreviations, etc. in conversational use?  But in written form meant to be viewed by folks of a variety of backgrounds and origins, itÂ’s just plain sloppy, lazy, grammatically incorrect, and it conveys a lack of education.

bahasa in english means language
if you say just bahasa it just mean language but what language ?

you must add next word(country) after you said "bahasa ......."
like:
bahasa indonesia
bahasa inggris
bahasa gaul
bahasa tubuh
bahasa ......

We know, as this was all recently covered on another string:

All the above is true but, in Indonesian slang, it's taken as meaning, "Indonesian".
