I actually have the same thought. Can I sell my car when I go to Morocco without those documents? Looking forward to your responses.

Hi I want to buy a car i Morocco for when I come there I can travel around,

I am a uk citizen with British passport and don't have Moroccan ID card,

So how would it work for me?

If I buy a used car in Morocco does the paperwork have to be on a Moroccan citizens name?

And what about insurance how would that work and would it cover me to drive it around

If someone could kindly help thanks

@Raf31 yes you can buy one with your foreign identity , it will coast less if a Moroccan but it for you  than buy it yourself .

you can have your insurance normally.

enjoy your time in morocco .

So for example if I see a car on avito and buy it when I do the paperwork to transfer the name to new owner.

I am allowed to put on my name but I don't have no address in Morocco

Also where do I go to get insurance thanks

Vakil

@Raf31 it’s always better to buy in a Moroccan residence name. Reason I say this is because as you mentioned you do not have an address and can be a little complicated at times. When trying to register it with a foreign passport

if you visit a lot and have family hear or company hear you can do under their name or a company name.

if somehow they let you buy under your passport technically you should have a Moroccan licence then. To explain your a tourist that own a car if getting stopped by police again can be complicated.

as a tourist you can drive on international licence for max of 12 months only.

insurance is on the car so if you insure the car anyone with a driving licence can drive.

hope this help.

Selling without legal documents, can cuase problems for the person buying. if you find a willing buyer then thats between you and the buyer. However, when you entre the country you must show legal docuemtns or ownership and insurance to the Custom offical and port of entry. Therefore you must bring the legal document with you.

To many people try to bring in cars and sell illgale and then report it to insurance as stolen. For this reason i Stongly recommend you bring all the correct document to avoid any issue with customs.
