Unleashed dogs — are they in San Miguel?

JapanTheMan

As many of you know, a majority of the districts in Lima have lots of unleashed dogs. In my experience it takes about a year and a half before you finally stop having the occasional dog attack after you've moved to a new area.

Districts like Magdalena, San Isidro, Miraflores, Barranco, etc. obviously don't have this problem. I was curious about San Miguel specifically, but I would REALLY like to avoid the year and a half of hazing from dogs this time around. (Btw, I find all or most of the advice from locals, concerning dogs, to be a myth. For example, 90% of the time, I was in quite a good mood when a dog went nuts, not careful or worried like they say to avoid.)

What say you, guys? Is San Miguel in the clear like Miraflores, etc., or is it like most of the other districts with unleashed dogs?
