I was quoted $845.00 for help with my visa from a lawyer and she made it clear that did not include any immigration fees.  That is her fee and everything else I need to pay.  I was thinking, is it possible to do it myself?  I might try though I don't have much time.  Can a pension visa be extended while applying for a renewal?

Thsts why  you  should start  the  visa   process in ColombiA  ( all documents  ready, submitted, study fee paid )3 months before you are scheduled to leave

If you had searched as I suggested for

colombia atm seguros

...you would have gotten the insurance website that was also posted here several times in response to your question.

The key word being "seguros" - leave that off and of course the search engine is going to think you meant ATMs.

My issue came this year when I went to re-new my visa. I had EPS, visa was not denied, but was sent back and I was told to cancel my EPS to comply with the law, I cancelled, sent the cancellation notice, however they can check on the government website, that's how I was caught.

Jason you know legally, per the 2002 immigration reform, Pensionada Visa holders cant use EPS

However, I doubt that EPS providers have caught on to it yet, as they just ask for a cedula, which only has "V", "M" or "R" on it, the nationality of the holder, and does not get int Visa sub categories

It woud be interesting to hear from a recent Pensionada Visa cedula holder who applied to go on EPS and what the results were.
