Temporary Visa

Ikexplorer

Hi all,

I hope you are all well.

I currently have a temporary (1 year) student visa, which is due to expire in November 2020. However due to the pandemic and the Policia Federal being closed my understanding is that since March 16 2020, visa days are not being counted and any uncounted days will be added to the visa.

Does anyone have any information on how this works, and what I need to do when my visa expires?

Thanks in advance,

Ikexplorer

Keep an eye on the PF site for the resumption of all services.
Nothing to date. Borders remain closed.
I would assume the reopening of the borders will cause PF to open, but there may be exceptions.
You may check with your school. Even if  the borders open, does not mean classes begin,

That's correct.  My understanding is that all expiration periods are suspended while the PF is not open to the public.  When they do reopen,  they plan to do it in stages, for the safety of all concerned,  and to keep from being inundated by pent-up demand.  So keep checking their site,  and as they begin to reopen, it should be possible to see when they can service you.
