Military retired

chefjim

Oi gente,

I'm about to apply for a retirement visa for Brasil, and noticed that one of the requirements is to have health insurance.  As a retired member of the US military, I am covered world-wide through TriCare.  Please tell me if this coverage is accepted by Brasil as one having the needed health insurance when applying for a visa.

Muito obrigado!

Jim

09/30/25 @chefjim,  Nice to see you again, Jim, and to hear that your plans are coming together.

TriCare should be acceptable; the people who can tell you for sure will be the ones at the Consulate where you'll be applying for your visa, and that's a question they should be ready for.  If the Consulate accepts it, no one at Immigration or the Federal Police should object.

Ola AB3,

Thank you for your comments!  I also thank you for the constant help you have given to folks over the years.  It is great to read your advice which helped so many people enjoy so much that Brasil has to offer.
