why work for mexican pesos when u can work for an american company in el paso and get paid in usd?

housing is dirt cheap in juarez. i have a 2brm apt for $270 usd. one friend rents a 4 bdrm聽 house聽 for $450usd

I think you would be better to live by the border where you can work. I think you will need to show more income if you want to qualify for anything besides a tourist visa.
