Considering moving from the UK to Canada with two under 2's.

S I

Hello,

I wanted to connect with people that have had experience moving from the UK to Edmonton - Canada with infants/ toddlers. I am due to give birth in Jan 2026 and have a 1 year old. My partner has found a position in Edmonton, he works in the medical field. We are moving due to our longer term goals of having a better quality of life, earning more money etc..

My husband wants us to move in the summer of next year (due to weather being milder so makes settling in easier), and our newborn baby will be 6 months old and our son will be 2 years old. I guess I'm nervous about this timeline as my main focus right now is getting through the pregnancy and getting everything ready for the newborn, which leaves little time to be planning a move to Canada. I'm worried that once the baby arrives I will have zero time to think about a move and the thought of it all stresses me out..I've started to look at daycares and will move onto rental properties but we will not have a chance to fly out to Edmonton to see it before we move due to my being pregnant.

Has anyone experienced a move similar to what we are planning to do with infants, what are the main things we need to consider? Is it realistic and achievable in a year from now?

Appreciate your support and guidance,

SI
