Desperate Help with american TV ....

vidalbra

Hello All,

I have a 8 months-twin-mom-to-be at home and gotta get this TV to work.

I've just relocated from Houston, therefore own an american TV (NTSC) recently connected to Du (you know what is coming, right?!).

Month and half ago, a Filipino fella came along to set up my cable - when he finally announced he was done with it,  handed me over the remote and I realized TV was black-n-white. Promptly questioned and I was told my TV was the problem, played a DVD on the ps3 and showed him, problem was not theTV but his Du set up.

Then of course he told me I would have to get in touch Du to send a technician, jejejej  to sum up, he could not fix it.

Ever since I've been in a battle with Du, believe or not so far they have not figured out what the problem is. Well I did and bought a NTSC <> PAL converter at Deira street market. Have color now  - kind a crappy tough, very, very poor quality and still can't see my full screen.

Everywhere I go - I'm told to "get a new TV" and this is definitely a no no considering a have a 46" and a 32" and no short plans to upgrade.

I just cannot believe everybody coming from the US ( or NTSC like) buy brand new TVs to be able to watch simple television.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Vidal

I'm a bit :offtopic: here, Vidalbra, I know, but we were expecting you yesterday at the meet-up!

I can confirm that UAE is full PAL system and - sorry to say so - I doubt that you'll find any other alternative as to buy a new TV!

Cheers
