What is best way to get a job in Dubai, UAE.

LeilaEs

Hi everyone.

I'm new on this site, so wasn't really sure whether to start my own discussion since there are a few topics on this subject already, which is from 2012.

I'm from London, UK, where I'm looking for work in Dubai.

I'm an International Business graduate with experience in Fashion, Events, Marketing and PR, Admin, and some HR and recruitment duties as well as sales and customer service.

Can someone please advise me on the best steps to take. I'm totally aware that it's more challenging to get a job there, as a lot of people now are moving to Dubai. I've wanted to move 5 years ago, but due to family commitments, I was unable to. Now I'm ready, yet I know it will be difficult.

I appreciate a response from anyone who can guide/help me.

I have ready joined online agencies such as, Dubizzle, Bayt and a few others.

Thanks in advance.

:)

Hello LeilaEs.

Welcome to Íæż½ã½ã! :)

You can post an advert in the Jobs in Dubai section. It could be useful.

These articles on the Work/Labor market in Dubai could help.

Good luck,

Hi Leila i myself i am coming for a job hunt on Monday, i am pretty nervous. You will get a good job cause its an ugly truth that most employers prefer girls, so don;t worry :) Also you have international degrees hat will also help.

Hi Zee,

Thanks for your response. I guess there's no harm in looking at those sites, as I know someone who got a job via the Bayt website. I guess it all comes down to luck most of the time as there's so many CV's to sift through.

I'll take your advice and start looking on Linkedin too.

If you know of any companies I can forward my CV to, please let me know.

Thanks for your message once again.

Take care!

Hi Adil,

I'm sure you'll get a job, good luck!

Where will you be staying when you get there? Is accommodation expensive? Where are the beat places to stay for a reasonable cost?

Thanks!

Adil Shah

Dubai is very expensive, Thank God i have my uncle here otherwise i would've freaked out :/. So i have no idea how your going to manage! From here its very difficult to find cheap areas in dubai, i am sure you can find something while browsing the web. Best of luck lets what the future holds

LeilaEs

I have a couple of friends there that I can stay with but I'd rather get my own place as I like to have my own space. But if I really need to get out there, I'll just stay with her.

Good luck on your job search!

Take care!

Adil Shah
