Looking for a work permit in İzmir

Guest3456

Hi folks,

I am currently staying in İzmir with my partner, I am a British citizen and she is Turkish.

I would like to find work here and I'm wondering where is the best place to look. I am an experienced web and graphic designer. I am looking for IT roles including front end development, IT management etc. Is it better to use websites like LinkedIn and indeed or is it better to directly approach companies?

Cheers!

Hi,
Approach both companies and LinkedIn, you have nothing to loose. In your field, speaking perfect English (you are native) and with a little bit Turkish (take a Tömer course online, is cheap and good), you should not have a problem to find jobs, not only in Turkey, but all over the world. Lucky you !!!  After that, I think, you can get the work permit (if a company want you and hire you). I am not sure, a lawyer told me online. You can have settlement relative easy, your partner (or a friend, a Turkish citizen) sign that you live with her/him, and that's it. But with work permit is different. You should ask a lawyer. There are ways around. If you find out more, let everybody know please. We try to share helping each other here.

It is a government institute. so for sure you will get working permission if you fit the position.
