Work Visa/Resident Permit Question

kristinncairns

Hi!
I am in the process of getting a work permit/visa through my work and it is taking a very long time. I'm coming up against my house rental contract expiration so I'm wondering: Can I enter Turkey on a tourist visa and then apply for a resident permit? I'm hoping I can and then begin the work visa process from over there.

Maybe you can try to register a business in Turkey, and have the Turkish company hire your business to work for them so instead of paying you directly they pay your Turkish business the salary they are supposed to be paying you every week or every month. I don't know if all businesses would be willing to do this. But this sounds like it would be faster then waiting for a work visa, or going there, and applying for a work visa which would take months. This would allow you to start working almost right away since it would be your business, and they would grant you a short-term permeant residence visa because you own a company which would be valid for 1 to 2 years.
