Definitely a Go, a must see view, and experience of 6th century Byzantine history, at it's best. You'll not be disappointed, especially during these hot summer days, in the IST. Enjoy, and cheers!

I would say go!

Just search the Basilica Cistern on Google and you will find a lot of pictures that should persuade you to go.
It's quite fascinating to marvel and wonder how this was created all those years ago. Incredible Architecture.
