I used to ride it daily from Incirli to Mecidiyekoy, and that was one of the reasons why I moved to Fulya. I can't say that people are excessively rude, but then again, I do have grey hair, so maybe that prevents some rudeness. I rode it last week after a long flight from the US, catching it at Zeytinburnu (from the airport via the metro) and people were very helpful, though it was a crowded time on the metrobus.  My suggestion: try not to stress before riding it, so that the stress of the crowd is not too much for you. As well, look into alternative forms of transport (for example, last month I was in Bakirkoy, and chose to take the dolmus to Taksim and then the metro to Mecidiyekoy. It cost more, but I was able to sit.
