GIRL PARTY!
Yes, Nonz..I am wearing my Saudi abaya but my husband says I am still revealing the most obvious feature: my eyes!
I picked you as the tallest, eventually...
I am 5'6"
I am still revealing the most obvious feature: my eyes!
Strangely, when a Saudi women removes the veil, it totally changes her face and you don't recognize her despite having seen her eyes for maybe months!

NO changing room????????????????
and someone told me all male shop attendants!
So, I bring EVERYTHING I will need to wear for the next few months..and if we are all under abayas then I won't need many outfits...just more abayas:unsure
Ioanna
It is a bit of a pain in the rump not to be able to try things on.Ìý Because of that I haven't done any clothes shopping.Ìý But then I live in shorts & and light weight pants most of the time.Ìý If you plan to attend the Embassy parties, then you may want to bring some Business Casual clothes and a dress or two.

Yeah and I'll tell you something ELSE:Ìý some of the shops have a 24 hour return policy!Ìý B*ST*RDS!Ìý Always check the return policy if you're buying clothing because you might have to get back there FAST!
And yes, it's ironic about the male clerks in the women's lingerie shops.Ìý I just brought a load of 'undergarments' from the US because I didn't want some guy eyeing me up and down and determining what size I take (although, from what I hear, those guys are ALWAYS right, much to the chagrin of my colleagues lol).
You're right about the abaya--you can go anywhere and not have to worry about what's underneath (but beware--they are a bit sheer so you must have something on or you'll find yourself being followed!Ìý No, I didn't do it--it's another 'hand-me-down' story lol).
If you're working, though, it's a different story and I do have to have nice blouses/slacks for my job.Ìý I'd suggest you bring at least a couple outfits like this for casual embassy functions (jeans and t-shirts are fine for the Australian affairs LOL).

the best quip i heard in my life about lingerie salesmen quips was when a heavily "decked" woman walked in and asked the male salesman what he had for "these", pointing to her chest.
he pointed to the sports store on the other side of the street and said, "lady I think you should walk over there and get yourself a hammock"
No girls, Its not as bad as u thinking, This is not very impossible situation. I agree, Yes, there are no Changing rooms in Shops. However, Every Malls has "Try Rooms", whatever u need to have just buy it and try over there and u may return it then and there and most of the brands have 2 weeks returned back policy.

SO ya r targeting me over here...
