well i have to wait another week, have to keep note of blood pressure. Still not feeling right since i took the seizure 3 days ago. The last time i felt like this the next one was a real bad one.
I want to do my fast.
2 weeks more before Ramadan ends this year, hope not but theres always next year. Inshallah.

Take your time, may Allah swt hear your prayers.
Sadly Ramadan is almost finnish and honestly I'm gonna miss Ramadan for i felt safe and secure from sins.

well fasting can be done at anytime you want and theres always next year. Inshallah.
for sure i will be missing Ramadan cause i felt I'm secured from sins, but most of all I'll be missing the moment where brothers and sisters are waiting for iftar altogether on different places but the same time. A holy month of sharing and giving for everyone.
Time really travels so fast and by July 9 Ramadan starts again, make this month more promising and dovotion. Hope you like the new weekeends too.
My 1st Ramadaan in KSA. Having only been here for 3 months I am sure it will not be easy. But after every difficulty comes success. Also my 1st Ramadaan away from my family. I will however be returning to South Africa for the last 2 weeks and Eid Insha-Allah.
Ramadaan Kareem to all and may we all derive maximum benefit from the abundant bounties on offer during this month.
this will be my second Ramadan, last year is not that hard especially if you have your intentions. thats ok bro Ierfaan always ask for guide.
JasfurJQ, when I mean hard I mean from an emotional point of view. It will be my first Ramadaan ever away from Cape Town and my family.
Sorry if I did not express myself correctly.
I have only been here 3 months and every night is very tough for me without my family. Its not easy for me. Not a day goes buy without me shedding a tear cos I am missing them
you already said it Bro, every difficulties comes success and always ask Allah taalah' to guide you and make dua' too, nothing is impossible to our creator. In Shaa Allah.

Yes it is expected to be on July 9.
But as it depends on lunar calendar, it could be a day before also

It will be easier than in a Western country because work hours here are cut for Muslims during Ramadan.
Ramadam is not easier in the Gulf than in western countries, as those who fast endure 45+ degrees without water.
How brave are those who fast in such conditions.
For the last few years Ramadan has been in the heat of the summer, but Ramadan does occur during the winter months, as well.
I have a Muslim friend who is Canadian and living in Saudi now who commented how much easier it is here due to the shorter work hours AND the feeling of solidarity that comes with all of the others who are also fasting.
It will be hard for me this year, sunrise 4am and sunset 10pm.
Plus im on a diet and weight program.

Thanks but for me its not so much the physical action of fasting which will be tough, it will be being away from my family and community.
But thanks for the encouragement. And I will also only be here for 2 weeks in Ramadaan, then back to winter in Cape Town
Must appreciated

It all matters in preparation Miss Suzan, before Fajr call for prayer I eat a lot and drink a lot and of course with strong faith in God.
Ramadan means not only for controlling your diet but killing all your five senses, just for at least 12 hours.(correct me brothers if Im wrong)and the best thing to do to ignore all the temptation while at fast is reading Qur'an......In Sha Allah.
Fasting is for cleansing and expelling toxins from the body too. If you are going to gorge yourself befoe sunrise then you will put on weight and many people actually gain weight during the month of Ramadam.
Can I ask, do you too gain weight during the holy month?

Many people do.
I've see many who overeat unhealthy food and hi-sugar syrups(as if they have to avenge themselves for the time they've been hungry and thirsty). Cause lost!

I know that many of my colleagues come dragging into work, exhausted, because they've been up most of the night visiting/eating/shopping.

Well, then you'll have the best of both worlds, Ierfaan. The beginning of Ramadan in the land of the Prophet and then back home to be with family. Lucky man!

i agree! Ramadan is definitely easier here in KSA, than in our home country...(I guess that goes well with other nationalities as well).
Less working hours, and fabulous iftars almost everywhere!(not to mention free!)
Ramadan Mubarak to all my brothers and sisters, In Sha Allah...
