I wanted to share my recent experience with extending my family's visit visa in Saudi Arabia. I successfully extended my wife and child's stay for an extra 3 months, all without having to leave the country. I thought I'd break down the process step by step in case it's helpful to others.

Step 1: Get Insurance

The first thing you need to do is get insurance for the visit visa extension. You'll be asked for your border number, which you can find on Absher. You can buy the insurance policy for 90 days at a cost of 26 SAR. They'll email you the policy – just make sure to download the PDF.

Step 2: Pay Sadad Fees

Next, you'll need to pay the Sadad fees (100 SAR) for the visa extension. You can do this through your online banking or mobile app. Go to Sadad payments, then Government Payments, Alien Control, and Extend Visitor Visa. Choose "unregistered" and enter the border number from Absher for the visa you want to extend. Don't forget to download the proof of payment.

Step 3: Absher Login

Log in to Absher and navigate to Dashboard, Visit Visas, More Details, Continue, and Eligible for extension. Click "Extend visa" and take a screenshot of the page that says "Sorry, multiple visas cannot be extended." Convert the screenshot to PDF.

Step 4: Combine Documents

Now, it's time to organize your documents. Combine the PDFs in this order: Absher Screenshot, Passport Copy, Insurance Policy, Payment Proof. If there are multiple people, follow this order: Absher Screenshot, Passport Copy for each person, Insurance Policy for each person, Payment Proof for each person. Make sure the PDF size is below 1MB.

Step 5: Submit Extension Request

In Absher, go to Electronic Services, My Services, Passports, Tawasul, and New request. Choose the 7th option from the top in the "sector" section, and select "Extend Visit Visa for Family Member" in the "service" section. In the request description, write: "Not able to extend visit visa through Absher Platform." Enter the name and border number of the person whose visa you're renewing. If there are multiple people, list them by number (e.g., "1 [name of person1] border number 1235467, 2 [name of person2] border number 7654321"). Avoid using special characters. Upload the combined PDF from Step 4.

Step 6: Await Reply

You should receive a reply within 2 days. They'll send you an SMS message. If your request gets rejected, you can get a refund for the Sadad fees, but the insurance policy fee is non-refundable.
