Best cities to live in Qatar

Julien

Hi,

ItÂ’s not always easy to decide in which area to settle in when moving to Qatar. According to you, what are the best cites to live in?

Which regions offer most of the job opportunities, a good quality of life, an affordable cost of living?

Share with us the cities you would recommend to expats and soon-to-be expats in Qatar.

Thank you in advance,

Julien

Doha only

the Business center in Qatar is all in Doha, schools and residential complexes of all types and sizes are here so I guess if you want to live with your family with the comfort of having everything available around then Definitely Doha. However if you a ready to compromise your car's mileage by a few hundred every month then I think Barwa City is the mostly beautiful place to live. With all the gardens, parks, green all around and many schools nearby  it's a quite and peaceful place with plenty of space for fitness conscious people. All in all if you work somewhere in Doha downtown and ready to drive 30mins extra everyday then Barwa City is  definitely the best place to live.

What say people??

if you are working in the industrial city i recommend ein Khalid  area its cheap and very near to work place.villagio and fish market is around 15 min drive.

When you are moving to Qatar its one because you have a Job.
Jump on google earth and and draw a 360 degree circle to a distance you want to travel  around your work place and the name of the zone areas will be on the map.

Regardless of your Job  you need to be within the closest proximity to your office ,as traffic is a big problem, if you dont drive this poses another problem as you need to be close to a public bus route that  get you to work on time as taxis are  impossible to get in the morning and UBAR is a rip off.

If you will work in Ras Laffan Industrial City, then Al Khor City would be a good choice if you don't want to drive 180+ Kms a day.

I have lived in Ain Khalid for 2 years, and I have to agree that it is a good area and only getting better. If you're not planning trips to West Bay frequently, it's a great candidate.

Ain khalid is horrible without a car. i used to live in Musheireb  so city center, souk waquif and the corniche were all close to me . Now they moved me to Ain khalid and it is simply terrible.

For a new expat like me who doesn't have a driver's license Musheireb is the best. i lived there last year and i loved it , now they mooved me to Ain khalid and my life has become horrible.

The Pearl Qatar is the best place to live as you don't need a car , everything next to you , restaurants and shops , beaches .
it's good for kids and family too. Google it. ( The Pearl of Qatar )
I live there and I love it.

g roule avec international

Guest7357

@Julien think, its still Doha

I can see your point...but I have a car so it's not much of an inconvenience here in Ain Khalid. Zero One Mall with Mega Mart and movie Theater are very close. Dar Al Salam Mall isn't too far, but definitely not walking distance.

You can only drive on an international license until you have RP then you need to get a Qatar license.
