Your new local habits in Oman

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Living in Oman is a great way to immerse in a new culture and lifestyle.

Have you embraced local customs since you've lived in Oman? If so, which one(s)?

Did local customs change the way you see things, appreciate life or organize your daily routines? As far as the language is concerned, did you learn new expressions or words and do you use them?

What do you like most about the lifestyle in your host country? Are there any local specificities you are still struggling with?

Thanks in advance,

Priscilla

I have liked Oman a lot except this long summer. Learned the Arabic greeting only till now which is Salam walekum..and reply etc.

People here are co-operative which is a great thing.

Sometimes it becomes difficult to explain a person who does not know English or Hindi like while searching for flat but that time other colleauges who knows local language helps..

Oman was a nice place to be although always had been a bit boring but now the new labor laws have damaged their reputation. less opportunities and restricted/limited business. Not prosperous at all.
