Music is said to be a universal language. Indeed it helps to discover and better understand the culture of a country.

What are the most popular music genres in Bahrain? How about traditional music and instruments?

Who are the local artists you would recommend?

Where can you listen to them: are there any concerts or music festival held regularly?

Bahrain and most of the Arabic gulf countries (Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE) almost have the same traditional types of music.聽 It鈥檚 called Khaleji, names after the Arabic word Khalej which translates to GULF.聽 The Oud (Arabic Lute) is the main instrument that makes the Khaleji music.聽 Oud along with simple and basic percussion instruments is what the Khaleji music all about.聽 I am an amateur oud artist, you can see listen to some our solos in my site from my bio.
