there is no such option as retirement visa in Ukraine.
There are limited number of basis to obtain temporary or permanent residence in UA :
- work,
- study,
- volunteer,
- long term business trip
- investment
- family reunion
etc.

I appreciate the info. I am going to Europe next month to visit a few countries next 6 months before making a decision which one to focus on. Ukraine is one country I think is very interesting to pursue.
Hopefully it is a possibility?

As Svitlana says, the option for a visa is limited. If you volunteer for a church or charity , they can sponsor you for a TRP. or invest 100,000 usd to the Ukraine government. Or marry a Ukrainian. If you fit  the a category, the process is quiet simple. Europe have almost the same rules.
