I live just down the road from there, but have never been in, I always just assumed it would be really touristy, I'm curious now

Hi, would be great to see you again. Opera Cafe is an interesting place, I went first because there is a Hemingway story set in the place. The customers come in shifts, tourists, local bar flies, La Ramblas streetlife on a break, the after opera crowd, etc. But it seem to have remained very authentic, though some of the old time grandeur has faded. They have done a good job of renovating upstairs.
