Hi! I'm a college student and this is my last semester. I doing now my thesis and I need some people to be as my references in my thesis. The title of my thesis is English to Norwegian Oversetter. This is a vice versa translation and this is mobile application for android phones. I'll put your names in my thesis as references and acknowledgment. Please help me! I need it asap.

My thesis was actually in this area, so I'd like to perhaps offer some advice.聽 Scoring translations using humans is a bad idea because it's inconsistent (varies from person to person), and will either be insignificant (i.e., the volume of required translations will be too few to accurately evaluate your system) or inaccurate (too many translations and you get people cutting corners and marking even more inconsistently).聽 It also doesn't allow for rerunning the experiment, something which is extremely important.

Therefor, I would recommend the following:
Find a set of pre-existing English -> Norwegian translations.
The English sentences/words are your data set for testing, and the Norwegian sentences/words are your "gold standard" which you will measure against.
Use a computer-evaluated metric (like BLEU ) to evaluate all the English sentences/words against their Norwegian translations (this will set up your baseline).
Next, translate the English sentences/words using your machine.
Evaluate the machine translations against the gold standard using BLEU (or similar).
Compare to the baseline/previous results (maybe you have a better score now, maybe worse), and investigate why the translations are wrong, and what could be done to improve them.

Now you can improve your machine and repeat the same experiment over and over to see the actual effect your improvements have on the results.
