Have met a few people who have and do and for the most part they are not terrifically happy.

Having said that it is not often you find anyone who works in a call centre or bank who is joyful so the two together, well.

My advice, try it for yourself. Only you can decide if you like it.

Don't particularly want to do it but all the jobs I have applied for want me to speak Maltese !

What kind of jobs are you applying for? If you're willing to work in iGaming there are plenty of roles in CS such as telephone support or even live moderator for casino games. Especially the latter tend to pay quite well (for customer support that is) - I've seen salaries of €24k even for non-language speakers. You will definitely not need Maltese for those.

It says "no experience" and "fluent in German, British English or Norwegian". Those live jobs tend to pay well if you're comfortable in front of the camera and speak impeccable English
