My Experience - So Far

Chardor

We moved to Malta by mistake, it wasn't our first choice, In fact it wasn't even on the list of countries that we even considered but as we wanted to desperately get out of the country we were living in, we hopped on three flights and landed in April 2013.
So, here we are, 16 months later and other than a few little gripes about how things are done or not done, I can honestly say, we won't be leaving for a while.
We live in a little village, where we are a handful of Brits, I think we are the only couple who actually live in the village, the others migrate here on a weekend ..... Our apartment is huge, the rent is reasonable, the views are stunning, the people treat us like family and have been more than accepting of our arrival.
This forum was a wealth of information with regard to the various legal bits and pieces that we had to do to make our stay above board.  The contributors on here are amazing, their experience and knowledge is priceless and for that I raise my hat to you in thanks.
All I can say is that if you want to make Malta your home, adapt to their way of thinking, they won't change, have you seen how many times other countries have tried to invade them?  Most of all "Keep Calm - This Is Malta" enjoy and appreciate this tiny island, the people, the history, the quirks but most of all the weather !

We were living in Egypt, initial plan was a beachfront house in Bali, but as we were retired, the visa was an issue ...... Long story.
We are British and flew here from Hurghada, Cairo, Istanbul .. cheaper by half. Currently living in Three Cities vicinity.
