Hi Reni,

welcome to the forum.

The problem is not finding a job but finding a job that pays enough!

The better your qualifications are the easier.

Hi Ricky,

Thanks for your reply.
My qualifications are all from hungary,do the employer actualy ask for it if i go for  a job interview?

ricky

Hi Reni,

if they are real qualifications employers will ask for them. It depends on the job. If you don't need qualifications they won't ask but don't expect a decent salary.

Cheers

So i have seen this job on the etc website:waitress
Subjects:
Vacancy Requirements
Subject    Level    Grade
FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE    KNOWLEDGEABLE    PASS
FOOD HANDLING COURSE B    KNOWLEDGEABLE    PASS
FOOD HYGIENE CERTIFIC(WARRANT)    KNOWLEDGEABLE    PASS
Could you tell me what this means?
As i have always been a waitress i would look for waiting or similar job.

ricky

Hi reni,

the requirements mentioned are cerificates that are issued after short training courses (3 hrs) and registration with the Superintendent of Public Health.

They are legal requirements to work in food handling or preparation in Malta (Waitress /cook).

If you have equivalent certificates from another EU country they might also be accepted but I'm not sure about that. It might be easier to just do the short courses again.

Cheers
Ricky
