Hello,

My husband and I are preparing to relocate to Malta from the United States. We have been researching countries that fit our budget, offer stability, and provide an environment where our 3D printing business can thrive. After careful consideration, Malta has emerged as the best choice for us.

We have started networking and exploring online communities and forums to gather more information in preparation for our move. The political climate in our country has become increasingly unrecognizable and negative, which has motivated our decision.

As a service-oriented family, we aim to enrich the community with our retail products while also contributing our professional expertise in engineering and behavioral health.

Welcome to the Forum, I would suggest you visit Malta and Gozo before deciding to move here, good luck.

Malta is a business friendly country. I suggest contact the chamber of industry and commerce. However, I recommend visit this country first before you make a decision.Seeing is believing and bear in mind here in Malta we have also people who like to rip off foreigners.

I would also suggest referring to Business First.

Hi, I've been living in Malta for 9 years. I moved here with my two sons and my mother, and my sister joined a few years later.

I'm half Maltese but was born in South Africa, Durban. I'm 55yrs old  and I don't mind the age group but I do have adult sons.

I am shy so don't enjoy big crowds but would like to get to know some expats and meet up. I like gentle hikes, watching rugby (my sons play for Falcons), going for coffee/lunch/dinner, horse riding, braais/barbeques, and live music.

Thank you, Julie

I assume you mean an online 3d printing business? Local market is quite saturated with 3d printing business with a big one enjoying a fairly unfair advantage thanks to government direct orders etc, would not really be good competing with the local market.

Hello,

I’m from Gabon. I grew up in Italy, and I’ve been working in France since graduating in 2008. I’m a scientist and IT engineer, and I’m currently considering moving to Malta, as I’m looking for an international environment like the one I grew up in.

I really miss switching between English, Italian, Spanish, and French on a daily basis. I’m not quite sure how or where to start this journey, but I’m confident I would enjoy living and working in Malta.

Wish me luck with my search!

Hi everyone,

I’m coming to Malta on vacation in about 10 days, but I’m also seriously considering moving there long-term if I like the vibe. I’m really into music, going out, and meeting new people, so I’d love to discover the nightlife while I’m there.

Would be great to get some advice from people already living there!

Hello everyone,

I’m Céline, originally from France, and I recently settled in Gozo. After many years working in interior design and renovation in France and Greece, I decided to bring this experience with me to Malta. I’ve always loved the mix between Mediterranean architecture and modern comfort, and Gozo feels like the perfect place for this balance.

I created Gozo Design & Style as a small studio to help expats and locals transform their apartments or houses into functional and welcoming homes. I work a lot with shell apartments, home staging and bespoke furniture — but above all, I enjoy meeting people who are starting a new chapter here, just like me.

Looking forward to exchanging with other expats about daily life in Malta, and happy to share tips if you’re dealing with housing, renovation or simply the challenge of making a new place feel like home.

Hello everyone, my name is Sharon, originally from Uganda. I am currently exploring opportunities to move to Malta for work.

I have experience working in the hospitality industry as a security guard and CCTV operator, and I am also open to opportunities in hospitality roles such as waiter.

I would really appreciate any guidance, advice, or connections regarding job opportunities in Malta, especially for expats. If anyone can recommend reliable companies, hotels, or job websites that are currently hiring, it would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Abu bakar Mridha

Hello.

This is an expat forum, not an employment agency, I doubt if anyone here owns a laundry and will be able to offer you a job.

Try searching here, if you enter the word 'laundry' in the search function, a number of roles appear.

Please be aware that before a non-EU citizen can be granted a work permit, an employer must provide proof there were no Maltese or EU citizens able to fill the vacant position.

If your driving licence was granted in a non-EU country, you will need to retake your driving test in Malta.

Why do you specifically want to work in Malta? Have you visited Malta? Do you have any family connections here? The cost of living is not cheap and often the wages paid are not enough to to comfortably support yourself.
