Ciao Tutti,
As an expat, my company was looking for an appartment so can not really say nevertheless I visited more than 10 appartmens to eventully find one in the Navigli.. I would say that many appartments are not in a gret shape, but well depends the taste and chance I guess.
Quite some expat in Milan and many groups enable to meet people easily. With the good weather, it makes things even more easier!
I would recommend to make the first step to meet people as -like most of the big city- usually the inhabitants will not come to you spontaneously.
There are quite some nice areas: corso sempione, corso como, via brera and the Duomo to get entertain and going out.
Enjoy the city and Italian way of life!!
