immigration paper work in order to live in Italy for two years

jjzhong

We are thinking about sending our two daughters, age 15 and 11 currently, to ISF starting 2024. I heard good things about IB program, but not know ISF's statistics comparing other IB schools.

We are USA citizens. We do not know where to start the immigration paper work in order to live in Italy for two years.

I am Julie from United States. During our first Florence trip last year, my family fall in love with Italian culture and would like to live there for two years to learn Italian, operatic singing and studio arts.  I would like to enroll two children, age 11 and 15, in schools starting 2024. I can financially support ourselves without a job in Italy. However, I do not know how to gain the resident status. It is because American can only stay 3 months if no immigration paperwork.

Can I enroll my children in public school? I worry that children will not learn Italian if they attend international schools.

Hello and welcome on board !

Please note that I have created a new thread from your post on the Florence forum since the other thread where you posted is completely out of date and the members are no longer active for years now.

At what step of your expatriation project are you ?

For what purpose are you looking forward to move to Italy ? (work, business... )

For a good start, I would suggest that you have a look at the Embassy's website :

You may contact the Embassy to share your project and to enquire about the proper visa.

You may also read the articles of the Living in Italy guide for expats to gather as much information as possible.
