Pending relocation

Hello. My name is Joe. I have a citizenship pending; probably before year's end, 2025. My official

"home town" of record will be Aidone, Sicilia, which is the hometown of my grandmother.聽 I visited the place last September, 2024, as well as Ventimiglia di Sicilia, the hometown of my grandfather, and can say with some conviction that neither of those places appeal to me for long term residence (as it probably didn't appeal to them, either). I also visited Palermo but did not have the time to reconnoiter the city suburbs for possible residences.

Expanding my scope, I'm (also) looking beyond Sicily to mainland Italy. Before I begin a blind search of the country I thought I'd join this site and seek recommendations from those who've made the leap.

I'm currently living in Central Florida, USA. My idea is to live comfortably on a fixed income of about $2500.00 per month as a starting point. I'm pretty conservative but I don't expect to have to be austere, either.

So, that's my story. I suppose it to be similar to those reading it and I'm curious how things unfolded for you. Thanks in advance for any advice!
