Moving to Germany, maybe Dresden

lordico

Hello all !

My name is Catalin and I am a Romanian, married with a Balinese girl named Desak and we are presently living in Romania. We have been working for about 10 years on cruise ships in USA and now we are ready to settle down and have a real family.  We are definitely thinking to move in Germany this Autumn, but so far we rely on advice about where exactly to go. So far we have a few cities on our list left, like Dusseldorf, Koln and Dresden.
We are thinking to find some place to rent there (everyone seem to think Neustadt is a good place to start) and some jobs to make a living, but later we are planning to open something like a little Balinese Spa, as my wife has knowledge and a diploma from Bali in regards to that field of expertise.
Now it's your turn to speak, our future friends from Dresden, you remember how it was at the beginning, so treat me like a dry sponge, fill me up with as much information as you wish, there will never be enough :) Thanks in advance and hope to have many of you as friends and guests to our future Spa and... a home cooked Balinese dinner !

P.S. I have heard that Dresden is at times not that friendly towards other races or foreigners, as it's not the most internationalized city in Germany. If any of you have another city in Germany in mind that you think that we should rather move to, please let us know, million thanks again !

At lordico, I'm 100% sure that Dresden is the best way to live in. Regarding with what you qouated that ''Dresden is at times not that friendly towards other races or foreigners, as it's not the most internationalized city in Germany'', your totally wrong. I'm also a foreigner a Filipina but in my 2 years of stay here I didnt experience akwardness. They are all kind and polite. Dresden is a civilized city all all the people here are friendly. I hope it helps you to decide finally to move in Dresden.
