Ways to get a job in Sofia

narajabi

Hello everybody,

My name is Nara and I am trying to immigrate to Bulgaria with my boyfriend. We are both trying to get a working permit by coming to Bulgaria and giving ourselves a 3-month window to find a job. Not to mention that we are already searching. We are both great at computer skills like web design, UI/UX design, graphic designing and administration and project management with work experience.

I wanted to know if it is even possible to find a job and get a work permit in that 3 months period, whether we are allowed to look for jobs, and how easy it is to find a job in those fields.

We both have a great knowledge of English and Russian.
Please share your insights and let me know how much wage would be desired for living in Sofia and how much these jobs are likely to pay.

Thank you all!

Hi there,

Immigration to Bulgaria for job related purpose requires a company that would hire you, and apply for a visa and work permit on your behalf.

So first find a job. In your case you can either directly search for job ads in Bulgarian websites, or use an employment agency to do this for you. This service is free of charge as per Bulgarian law, for the job searchers.

Higher level of Russian is a plus. This means you can search for a support jobs in Gaming, Software development etc.  Web design and Graphic design would also help.

Regards,

Kristiann

Hi Nara, you may have a look at jobs.bg - this is the most common place for job ads.

By the way, how can I figure out if a HR or recruiting agency will consider commissions in their service? Are they all free of charge or are the state agencies only free?

kristiann

You don't need to. Just make no payments. That would be enough.  :D

narajabi

Haha true. Thank you so much.

Actually you can request additional services from an agency, that would assist you in finding a job here. In this case these would be paid services - e.g. finding an accommodation, airport transfer, arranging some sort of papers, translation of documents, etc. But searching for job is free of charge for the employees. It is however a paid service for the companies.
