Tourist visa application 'en traitement'

Abhimanyu1

Hi,

I applied for tourist visa  on 26-Nov. on the next day, the Belgian consulate in Mumbai forwarded the application to immigration office here in Brussels.

On the DOFI website, the status of the visa application has changed to 'en traitement'  on 16-December-2019.

is it normal that tourist visa application sent to Belgium for approval?

anyone faced such situation?
how long it will take for the office to take a decision approve/reject on the application?

Thanks for sharing your experience/thoughts!

Hello,

your question has already been answered thousand of times on this forum, please use the search function next time.

There're two possibilities:
* It's your first request for a Schengen Visa, then your file was probably not good enough and was send for final decision to the immigration in Belgium.
Missing papers, not enough money / owning / not enough proof you'll go back home / whatever...
Probability that the visa will be deny is high, I should say really high.
* You already did request a Schengen Visa in the past that was denied. In that case, Belgian embassy can't give the visa before the approval by the immigration in Brussels.

It can takes up to 4 months, especially with winter holiday coming in the next few days.

Hello,

many thanks for the reply.

if it is rejected, am i allowed to re apply?
if i re apply, will it still take longer time to get approval by Brussels office?

any chance of rejection for the second time  also?

is it ok to approach with the help of any immigration lawyer ?

Hi,

It was also replied over and over since long time.

Answering of your questions
- Yes and no, it will depend of the cause
- At least the same period
- 99% of rejected file is due to lack of preparation
- Worst idea that you can imagine

Hello,

thanks for the comment.

it will be very much useful, if the immigration office introduce fast track processing for short visa at least. 4 moths of waiting for a short visa is/will be tiring.

I have applied for marriage in Belgium. Went through all formalities from the commune. Received a formula stating all document received in original and submitted successfully.  Do I still have a chance of rejection, while applying for visa?

Its been a month and i can see the status as "en traitement".
