What's up everyone,

My name is Anthony. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania to parents born in Puerto Rico but were raised in Pennsylvania. I have always loved the island as we always would go there for vacation and to visit family when I was younger. Now as a 34 yr old adult I go every year for vacation and to visit family with my wife and two kids. My wife Sandra was born and raised in San Sebastian and moved to Pennsylvania when she was 18. The island has won me over and we have seriously been planning on a move in the next 2 years or less if we can. We are fortunate that my father in law, who lives here in PA, will let us live in his home rent free to let us get situated with everything and find work. My only concern is my children, 5 & 7, speak very little Spanish. They understand it completely, as my wife does not speak English. But I am sure they will adapt since they are young enough. We are very excited for this change, and really hope we can make everything work to have a great life and raise our kids.

Hello everyone - we just purchased two pieces of land (site unseen) in Palmas and Naguabo. We would like to build on both and hopefully live in one (Naguabo) and Airbnb the other (Palmas).

Does anyone have any good recommendations for builders, modular homes contractors, architects, etc on the east side of the island?

We are looking forward to the day where we can leave NJ and live on the island full time!

Hello everyone, my name is Anthony! Just recently my family and I came to visit Puerto Rico for a week, and we fell in love with it within days. We currently reside in Florida and are looking for a lifestyle change, and Puerto Rico has come up in our list of places to relocate to. My fianc茅 and I already speak basic Spanish, and have already discussed what comes with a lifestyle change such聽 as this, but our children, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, are our biggest concerns.聽 Any advice, feedback or knowledge on living in Puerto Rico, working there, the education, anything that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!!! @fortguise0x Welcome! We spend聽 a lot of time on the island and live in Texas. Our kids are older than yours.聽 They have learned to surf and prefer PR to any other vacation destination. The public schools in Puerto Rico are underfunded. Most mainlanders send their kids to private schools or homeschool. The private schools in Puerto Rico cost half as much as the ones in Dallas. I recommend spending time all over the island before making any decisions. It's a wonderful place! We plan to retire in Isabela.
