Well, it’s been only a day since the Governor announcement of an island wide curfew and lockdown.Â
The impact has been dramatic, most businesses are closed, no public gatherings, only gas stations, banks, grocery stores, medical facilities open.
The curfew from 9pm to 6 (?) am is being enforced. We were told that yesterday the police were writing tickets for violations - $5000 fine and possible 6 months in jail !
Even the beaches are closed. But, I have to say that part defies logic - -Â why is it illegal to walk a mostly deserted beach, when it is fine to shop Walmart or Sams club with customers packed together like sardines in a can?Â
What has been other people experience with the curfew? Let’s hope it works to limit transmission of the virus.
